"Confirm Save. A More Recent Version of the <File Name> Has Been Saved" Error Message When You Try to Save File in Web (274294)

This article was previously published under Q274294 SYMPTOMS When you save pages with non-HTML extensions to a Web
project, you receive the following error message:
Confirm Save A more recent version of the file
name has been saved to the server by
IUSR_computername on date and
time. Do you want to replace this with your file? Note This error message only occurs under Microsoft Windows 2000
versions that are updated with Service Pack 1. This also only affects Web
content that is located on file allocation table (FAT)
partitions. CAUSE This error message occurs during the processing of files
that FrontPage does not parse for metainfo. The affected files have extensions
other than .html, .htm, .txt, .asp, and Office documents. RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, obtain the latest
service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following

STATUS Microsoft has confirmed
that this is a problem in FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions.
This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service
Pack 2.
