This article was previously published under Q273760 SYMPTOMS In Microsoft Word 2000, when you open a document that was created in
a bi-directional version of Microsoft Word 97 and that contains tables, the table row
directions and table cell widths change. CAUSE This problem occurs when a table contains both
right-to-left and left-to-right rows. In this case, the direction of the whole
table is changed to right-to-left.
In the bi-directional versions of
Word 97 (Arabic and Hebrew), you can set the direction for each individual row.
There is an option in the TableFormatCell dialog box in these versions that lets you do this.
In
Word 2000, the direction can only be set for an entire table. RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, obtain the latest
