Exchange Mailboxes Are Not Exported When Running Deltas (273650)

SYMPTOMS

When you have deltas turned on for the metadirectory to update the connected directory, and you process sites and organizations as well as mailboxes, all of the users may not be exported.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the users were created in the Create.ou file, which occurs by design with the Microsoft Exchange Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) management agent (MA) when sites and organizations are selected and deltas are used; however, unpredictable results are seen after the MA is run. Users are not updated in Exchange as expected based on the Create.ou file.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, upgrade to Microsoft Metadirectory Services 2.2.

To work around this problem:
  1. Select the Exchange MAPI MA.
  2. Click Operate MA on the action panel.
  3. Click the Operational Settings tab.
  4. Under Types of Objects to Process, click to clear the Sites and Orgs check box.
  5. Run the MA. Exchange is updated correctly.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Metadirectory Services version 2.1.
