This article was previously published under Q272826 SYMPTOMS
When you create an envelope in Microsoft Word 2001 for Mac, the page layout may be incorrect. Instead of creating a #10 envelope, Word may create a U.S. letter-sized envelope in portrait orientation.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you have the Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 4.0 driver installed on your computer.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, change the size of the envelope in the page setup for envelopes. To do this, follow these steps: - On the Tools menu, click Envelopes, and then click Page Setup.
- In the Paper box, click the size that you want.
- If the size that you want is not listed, click Cancel, and then in the Envelope dialog box, click Custom.
- Under Envelope size, click Custom size, and then enter the dimensions of your envelope.
NOTE: You only need to perform these steps once.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Word 2001 for Mac.
