SYMPTOMS
When you use a Microsoft Access database file that contains macros in Microsoft Word, Word does not display the macro virus warning message. This problem can occur in either of the following situations:
- When you use the Access database file in a Word mail merge.
-or- - When you insert the database into your Word document.

NOTE: This problem can occur when you open an Access table, either locally or through an Internet or intranet connection.
RESOLUTION
To resolve the problem described in this article, obtain
and install the latest Microsoft Word 97 update from
the following Microsoft Web site:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Microsoft Word 97 post-service
release fixes are cumulative. The latest update contains
all of the fixes since Service Release 2. If you install
the latest update for Word 97, you do not need to install
any other updates after Service Release 2.

How to Determine Whether This Update Is Installed
After you install this update, QFE 8909 will be shown in the
About Microsoft Word dialog box. When you click
About Microsoft Word on the
Help menu, the version information is changed to reflect the current version of Word, as in the following:
