The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft IntelliPoint software for Macintosh 1.0
  • Microsoft IntelliPoint software for Macintosh 1.1

This article was previously published under Q272720

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use the Microsoft IntelliPoint software for Macintosh to assign the DELETE key to a button on a pointing device, you may not be able to assign the button correctly. In addition, you may also experience one of the following symptoms:
  • The button to which you assigned the DELETE key may be assigned the "forward delete" function.
  • The DELETE key may not register in the IntelliPoint software as a keystroke that can be assigned to a button.

When you press the DELETE key to assign it to a button in the IntelliPoint Assignments window, the Press a key box may remain empty, indicating that the DELETE key may not be assigned.
NOTE: Not all third-party keyboards have been fully tested with the IntelliPoint software, so results may vary.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft IntelliPoint software for Macintosh.
