After you install or upgrade to Internet Explorer 5.5, you might notice that Internet Explorer is slow to load or start.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you have many fonts installed. Internet Explorer 5.5 must initialize each font when it starts.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, remove unnecessary fonts. However, Microsoft recommends that you not remove the Windows default fonts.
NOTE: Keep in mind that some of the fonts may have been installed by other programs. You could experience problems with a program if you remove its fonts. If you are not sure which fonts you can safely remove with causing problems with a program, contact the manufacturer of that program.
