The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2001 for Macintosh

This article was previously published under Q271107

SYMPTOMS

Entry and exit animation settings for grouped objects do not behave as you expect when you save your presentation as a PowerPoint movie. Grouped objects that have been assigned an entry animation are visible as soon as the slide appears in the movie, without the animation effect. Grouped objects that have been assigned an exit animation remain visible after the animation effect has occurred.

RESOLUTION

To allow a group object to be animated in a PowerPoint Movie, follow these steps:
  1. Select the grouped objects. On the Edit menu, click Cut.
  2. On the Edit menu, click Paste Special.
  3. In the Paste As list, click Picture, and then click OK.
  4. Reposition and reset the custom animation settings for the group.
The group will now be animated correctly in the PowerPoint movie.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
