WD2001: Screen Is Not Redrawn Correctly When You Use the Scroll Arrows (269938)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Word 2001 for Mac, your computer screen may not be redrawn correctly when you use the scroll arrows to move through a document. For example, some sections of the document of appear broken from the rest of the document.

This can occur if all of the following conditions are true:
  • The zoom magnification is set at less than 100% (such as 59%, 75%, or 85%).
  • The Formatting Palette and the Assistant are located in front of your document.
  • Your document contains several formatting details, such as tables, text boxes, and so on.
  • You are viewing the document in Normal view.
NOTE: This is only a screen redrawing problem. It does not affect the text or formatting of the document.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use either or both of the following methods:
  • Drag the Formatting Palette and the Assistant off the document.

    -or-
  • Change the zoom to 100% or greater.

    NOTE: To change the zoom, click the arrow next to the Zoom box, and then click the zoom setting that you want.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Word 2001 for Mac.
