WD2001: Customized Settings Are Not Retained in Word 2001 Upgrade (269918)

When you upgrade from Microsoft Word 98 to Microsoft Word 2001, the following settings are loaded by default.

Large toolbar button icons | Off | Show ScreenTips on toolbars | On | Show shortcut keys in ScreenTips | Off | WYSIWYG font menus | Off | Standard toolbar | Visible |
Any customized settings that vary from these settings are not retained after the upgrade.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, customize your settings as needed in Microsoft Word 2001.
MORE INFORMATION
Only the standard toolbar is displayed by default after the installation of Word 2001. Any additional commands added to the standard toolbar in Word 98 are upgraded and retained in Word 2001.
