Game Voice: You Hear Echo Sounds After You Use the Audio Test (268303)

When you use the audio test for the Microsoft SideWinder Game Voice software, you may hear echo sounds during or after the test.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the following conditions are true:
- An Ensoniq PCI 128 sound card is installed in your computer.
- The Wave or Wave Out volume control is turned on.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, turn off the Wave and Wave Out volume controls:
- Start the audio test again.
- When you get to the Speaker test, click Volume.
- In the Mixer dialog box, click to select the Mute check boxes in the Wave and Wave Out columns.NOTE: If the Wave or Wave Out column is not displayed in the Mixer dialog box:
- Click Options, and then click Properties.
- Click Recording.
- In Show the following volume controls box, click to select the Wave and the Wave Out check boxes.
- Click OK, and then repeat step 3.
- Click OK, and then follow the instructions on the screen to complete the audio test.
