Recycle Bin Does Not Function As Expected After You Uninstall Windows Me and Restore Windows 98 (267760)

When you uninstall Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) and restore Microsoft Windows 98 (version 4.10.1998), the Recycle Bin may no longer function as expected.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the Recycle Bin contains deleted files when you uninstall Windows Me.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, follow these steps:
- Note that after the uninstall process, the Recycle Bin indicates that deleted files are contained in the folder.
- Right-click the Recycle Bin, and then click Properties.
- Click to select the Display delete confirmation dialog check box.
- Click OK.
- Right-click the Recycle Bin, and then click Empty Recycle Bin.
- When you are prompted to Confirm File Delete, click Yes to successfully delete the folder contents.
