SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to recustomize a folder by using the Customize This Folder Wizard in Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), and you use the keyboard instead of the mouse, you may not be able to select the setting you want.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use the mouse to choose the options you want, or use keyboard navigation keys.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition.

When you use the keyboard to browse between the Customize and Remove customizations options in the Customize This Folder Wizard, and then you select Customize and click Next, the Remove customizations option is displayed even though you did not select it.

To use the keyboard to work around this behavior, follow these steps:
  1. On the Remove customizations screen, press TAB to move to the Back button, and then press ENTER.
  2. Press the DOWN-ARROW key, and then press the SPACEBAR to select Remove customizations.
  3. Press the UP-ARROW key, and then press the SPACEBAR to select Customize.
  4. Press the TAB key to select Next, and then press ENTER to continue the customization.
