Restoring Default Folder View Settings and Resetting Folders Causes My Pictures Folder to Display Icons, Not Thumbnails (267148)

SYMPTOMS

When you restore default view settings on your folders and then choose to reset all folders, you may find that items in the My Pictures folder are displayed not as thumbnails (the default view) but as large icons.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, click the View menu in the My Pictures folder, and then click Thumbnails.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
