SYMPTOMS

When you print a Run Length Encoding (RLE) color image from Microsoft Paint, or from a WordPerfect 8.0 document, to a Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet 694C or HP LaserJet 5Si MX PS printer, the image may be printed in black and white rather than in color as expected.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are using a the Microsoft Windows 98 DeskJet 694C printer driver, and you then upgrade your Windows 98-based computer to Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me).

RESOLUTION

To resolve the issue, obtain the latest printer drivers from the following Hewlett-Packard Web site:
