Index Server 2.0 "First N Hits" Feature Is Not Available in Index Server 3.0 (266664)

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Index Server 2.0 offers query results that are presented as the "first N matching results" are returned. However, Microsoft Indexing Services 3.0 does not offer this feature, but instead returns the "best N matching results".

RESOLUTION

This feature is under review and will be considered for inclusion in a future release.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
