SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start Microsoft Encarta Reference Suite 2001 DVD-ROM version, you may receive one of the following error messages:
  • Please make sure the Encarta Africana Third Edition installation disc is in the disc drive.
  • Please make sure the Encarta Encyclopedia 2001 installation disc is in the disc drive.
  • Please make sure the Encarta Interactive World Atlas 2001 installation disc is in the disc drive.
When you attempt to start Microsoft Encarta World English Dictionary 2001, you may receive the following error message:
Please make sure the Encarta Dictionary installation disc is in the disc drive.

When you click OK, you may receive the following error message:

Ewed caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you copy the contents of the Encarta Reference Suite 2001 DVD-ROM to your hard disk, and then attempt to run the program from the hard disk.
