Encarta World Atlas 2001: Cannot Open Pushpin Menu (266545)

SYMPTOMS

When you organize pushpins in Microsoft Encarta World Atlas 2001, you may not be able to open the menu to select a different pushpin.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when the Microsoft Windows display settings are configured to use a large or an extra large font size.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, select a different font size by using one of the following methods.

Configure Microsoft Windows to Use a Standard Desktop Scheme

To configure Windows to use a standard desktop scheme:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display.
  3. Click the Appearance tab.
  4. In the Scheme box, click Windows Standard, and then click OK.NOTE: If you need to use large fonts, click Windows Standard (large), and then click OK.

Reduce the Font Size in Windows

To reduce the font size in Windows:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display.
  3. On the Settings tab, click Advanced.
  4. In the Font Size box, click Small Fonts.
  5. Click OK, and then click Close.
  6. If you are prompted to restart your computer, do so.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Encarta Interactive World Atlas 2001.
