SYMPTOMS

When you use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel, and you select Microsoft Works Setup Launcher, you cannot change the installation type from Minimum to Typical or vice-versa.

The only options that you have are to add or remove the program.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, change the installation type for the individual Microsoft Works Suite program that you want. To change the installation type for an individual program, follow these steps:

Note You must have your Works Suite CD-ROM package to complete these steps.
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Click the Works Suite program that you want, for example, Microsoft Home Publishing.

Note If the installation type can be changed, there are separate Change and Remove buttons. If the installation mode cannot be changed, there is one Change/Remove button.
  4. Click Change.
  5. On the Welcome screen, click Next.
  6. Click Change Setup Type.
  7. Click Next, and then follow the instructions on the screen to change the installation type of the program.
