OL2000: Share Command Is Missing on the Outlook File Menu (264168)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to share a folder by using Net Folders, the Share command on the File menu may be missing.

CAUSE

Either the Net Folders Add-In is not installed on your computer, or the Net Folders Add-In check box is not selected in the Add-In Manager.

RESOLUTION

How to Install the Net Folders Add-In

  1. Quit Outlook.
  2. On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  4. In the Install/Uninstall dialog box, click Microsoft Office 2000, and then click Add/Remove.
  5. When the Maintenance Wizard starts, click Add or Remove Features.
  6. Click the plus sign (+) that is next to Microsoft Outlook for Windows.
  7. Click Net Folders, and then click Run From My Computer.
  8. Click Update Now.

How to Click the Net Folders Add-In in the Add-In Manager

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the Other tab, click Advanced Options, and then click Add-In Manager
  3. Click to select the Net Folders check box.
  4. Click OK, click OK, and then click OK.
