Malformed MSBD Packet Causes Windows Media Encoder to Fail (264133)

The Microsoft Windows Media Encoder formats digital content into a streamable format. If a malformed (bad) Media Streaming Broadcast Distribution (MSBD) request is sent to the Media Encoder, a malicious user can cause the service to fail. Although, this doesn't directly affect the Windows Media Server, it can interfere with any real-time broadcasts.
RESOLUTIONA supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. To resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix.
