Floppy Disk May Be Unreadable or Computer Hangs with LS-120 Drive (262232)

After you start Windows 98 Second Edition for the first time with a floppy disk inserted in an LS-120 drive, your computer may stop responding (hang) or your floppy disk may be unreadable from Windows Explorer.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you configure your computer with an LS-120 drive instead of a standard floppy disk drive and set the drive A setting in the BIOS to None.
RESOLUTIONA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. To resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix.
