"Arrange Icons" Options in Explorer Context Window Do Not Work (259916)

SYMPTOMS

Clicking any of the Arrange Icons options in the View context menu of the Mobile Device Explorer window causes the option to flash, but the icons are not rearranged.

CAUSE

The Arrange Icons options in the View context menu of the Mobile Device window do not work when viewed from the Explorer window of ActiveSync, or in Mobile Device under My Computer.

WORKAROUND

Use Microsoft Windows Explorer to select Mobile Device, and then select the Arrange Icons option that you want. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.
  2. Click Mobile Device, and then on the View menu, point to Arrange Icons.
  3. On the Arrange Icons menu, select the option that you want. Note that the newly arranged icons view is not available when viewed from the Explorer window of ActiveSync, or from Mobile Device under My Computer.

STATUS

Microsoft is aware of this issue; it will be resolved in the next version of the product.
