When you click a message in the Outlook Express message list, the Preview pane briefly displays a blank pane before displaying the message that you clicked. This may cause the Preview pane to seem to flicker. This affects both mail and newsgroup messages.
CAUSE
Outlook Express clears the Preview pane before displaying a new message to avoid a potential security risk.
NOTE: In versions of Outlook Express earlier than Outlook Express 5, the Preview pane is not cleared before displaying a new message.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
