Internet Explorer Icon Is Missing From the Desktop after Upgrade (259839)

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade Internet Explorer, the Internet Explorer Icon may be missing from the desktop.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the icon was deleted before the upgrade.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Under Browsing, click to select the Show Internet Explorer on the desktop check box, and then click OK.
