This article describes how to use Queue Viewer, a utility in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.

You can use Queue Viewer to maintain and administer the organization messaging queues. In Queue Viewer, the queues in a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) virtual server, Microsoft message transfer agent (MTA) object, or connector can be displayed from either a local or remote computer.

To open Queue Viewer, click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.

To locate SMTP queues, use the following path:

Servers/Server/Protocols/SMTP/SMTP virtual servers/SMTP virtual server/Queues/Queue

To locate X.400 queues, use the following path:

Servers/Server/ Protocols/X.400/Queues/Queue

To locate Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) system queues that are associated with connectors such as Microsoft Exchange Connector for GroupWise, Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus cc:Mail, use the following path:

Connectors/Connector/Queues/Queue

If you can view the routing groups or Administrator groups in the Exchange System Manager, you must browse through these objects to reach Queue Viewer.
