PhD2: Command-Line Switches Are Ignored by PhotoDraw Setup (259471)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000 2.0

This article was previously published under Q259471

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000 from the Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Premium Disc 3 CD-ROM using a command-line switch, the switch has no effect on the installation.

CAUSE

The Setup.exe file on Office 2000 SR-1 Premium Disc 3 CD-ROM is a wrapper that can start the installation program for either Microsoft Office Server Extensions or PhotoDraw 2000.

However, the wrapper is unable to pass the command-line switches to the installation program.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install Photodraw 2000 by using the Setuppd.exe file on the Office 2000 SR-1 Premium Disc 3 CD-ROM.

Because the Setuppd.exe file is not a wrapper, the command-line switches function as expected when you use this file to install PhotoDraw 2000.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000, version 2.0.

MORE INFORMATION

The Setuppd.exe file on the Office 2000 SR-1 Premium Disc 3 CD-ROM is the same file as the Setup.exe on the PhotoDraw 2000 Disc 1 CD-ROM.
