When you save an existing Word document as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), some graphic images may be lost. This problem is known to occur with documents that contain large tables with inline images. The issue may be inconsistent and only occurs with existing native Word documents.

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, save the document as Rich Text Format (RTF) before you save it as HTML.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 2.
