The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (all editions)
- Microsoft SQL Server 7.0

BUG #:353608 (SHILOH_BUGS)
BUG #:57819 (SQLBUG_70)
SYMPTOMS
A Data Transformation Services (DTS) transfer fails to import the last row in an input file to a SQL Server table under the following conditions:
- You use SQL Server 7.00 Service Pack 1 (SP1) (version 7.00.699) or later, or SQL Server 2000.
- You use {CR}{LF} as a row terminator.
- The last column of the last row does not have any data.
- A {CR}{LF} does not exist after the last row.
However, if a {CR}{LF} ends the last row of data, the import proceeds properly. This is a behavior change between the retail product, SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, modify the text data source file so that {CR}{LF} is the last character.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 2.
