When you attempt to download a large e-mail message that contains many periods (or dots) from a POP3 server, you may receive the following error message:
Some messages couldn't be retrieved from the server. This usually happens when the connection to the server is lost due to server or network problems. If the problem persists, contact your administrator.
CAUSE
This behavior is caused by Outlook Express incorrectly parsing the end-of-file (EOF) marker in the message. Outlook Express incorrectly interprets the multiple periods ("..") as an EOF marker and does not download the rest of the message.
