Some Toshiba Utilities May Not Work Correctly After Suspending Computer (259169)

After you resume a Toshiba laptop computer that is in Standby or Hibernate mode, some Toshiba utilities may not work correctly.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because some bits in the DMA register are not correctly restored when the computer returns from Hibernate or Standby mode. These bits are used by the Toshiba utilities to determine if the floppy disk drive is being accessed or if DMA is in use. If these bits are not maintained, the utilities may not work correctly.

This fix is to the Hal.dll file, so the version that you install depends on your computer. This list includes all the possible hardware abstraction layer (HAL) files with the names they have on the product CD-ROM. After installation these files are always renamed to Hal.dll in the %SystemRoot%\System32 folder. The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:
