After you upgrade to Mac OS 9 or 9.1, the Customize option on the Microsoft Office Manager may not work when you select it from the menu.
WORKAROUNDFor Mac OS 9.0.x- Press CONTROL+COMMAND.
- Click the Microsoft Office Manager to open it, and then click Customize.
- Perform any customizations that you want.
For Mac OS 9.1
As a result of changes in the 9.1 Apple Operating System, the key command in step 1 for Mac OS 9.0. x does not work. For OS 9.1, you must remove the Microsoft Office Manager for Office 98, and then download and install the Microsoft Office Manager for Office 2001. To do this, follow these steps:
- Locate and open the Control Panels folder from within the System folder.
- Locate the Microsoft Office Manager (MOM), drag it to the Trash, and then close the Control Panels folder.
- From within the System folder, open the Preferences folder.
- Locate the Office Manager Preferences file, and drag it to the Trash.
- Start a Web browser, and browse to the following Microsoft Web site:
- Scroll down until you see Microsoft Office Manager. Select the appropriate language, and then download the file.
- After the file is downloaded to your desktop, double-click the MOM Installer icon, and then follow the instructions on screen to install the MOM. After the computer restarts, the new MOM should be available from the menu bar.
