Bad Local Directory
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, complete the SMTP Instance (site) Wizard and create a new instance for a local directory. Then change the settings for this instance to point to a remote store or share:
- Click to expand this new instance.
- Click Directories.
- In the right pane, right-click Mailbox, and then click Properties.
- In the window that is displayed, change the virtual directory; click A share located on another computer. This allows you to enter a universal naming convention (UNC) network path in the following format
to the share where your mail store is located.
You may need to use an account for authentication, such as a domain administrator account or a local account that is the same on both systems. To enter this authentication account and password, click Connect As.
