Slow Response to Hibernate Mode in Windows 98 with USB Hub (257468)

SYMPTOMS

When you run Windows 98 and you connect a Universal Serial Bus (USB) hub to your computer, the computer may be slow to change to the Hibernate mode.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, try the following methods:
  • Disable Universal Serial Bus (USB) support.

  • Disable Power Management support.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows 98 Second Edition.
