Options on Color Background Are Printed Inside White Squares (257137)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Internet Explorer to print a Web page or document that includes options (sometimes called "radio buttons") on a color background, white squares may be printed around the options.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the Print background colors and images option is enabled in Internet Explorer. This option is not enabled by default.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, disable the Print background colors and images option. To do this:
  1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, scroll down to the Printing section, and then click to clear the Print background colors and images check box.
  3. Click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
