SUMMARY

When you start Microsoft Windows 2000 and select Safe Mode on the Windows 2000 Advanced Options Menu, Windows 2000 takes a long time to start.

This behavior occurs because additional driver logging occurs and Windows runs debug code to help troubleshoot Windows 2000 start-up errors. The time it takes to start in Safe Mode will vary and will depend on the speed of the computer.
