The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q254371 SYMPTOMS
When you print a banner that contains border art, you may receive the
following error message:
Publisher
A Publisher object is too large to print.
Publisher may not be able to print all of the objects in your
publication due to printer limitations. Try lowering the resolution
of your printer using the Properties button on the Print dialog box.
To continue printing, click OK. To cancel printing, click Cancel.
If you click OK, the banner is printed; however, the border art
is not printed.
If you click Cancel, the banner is not printed.
CAUSE
When you send a publication to the printer, each separate object in the
border art is added together to create one large metafile object.
A limit exists on the size of metafile objects that Publisher can print.
When you place a border around the edges of a banner, you may exceed this
limit if you print the banner at a high resolution.
This issue has been reported to occur when you print banners that contain
border art at a print resolution of 600 dots per inch (DPI) or higher.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, use one of the following methods.
Method One
Print your banner at a lower print resolution.
Microsoft recommends that you reduce the print resolution to 300 DPI or lower.
Method Two
Reduce the dimensions of the border art objects.
Microsoft recommends that you reduce the dimensions of the border art objects by about two inches on each side. After you reduce the dimensions
of the border art objects, attempt to print the banner again.
If you continue to receive the error message mentioned in the "Symptoms"
section of this article, reduce the dimensions of the border art objects
by an additional amount, and then attempt to print the banner again.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Publisher 2000.
