When you use Outlook Express to retrieve e-mail messages from a Hotmail account, you may receive the following error message if you attempt to read an e-mail message in a different folder:
The requested resource was not found.

CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you create a folder on the Hotmail server that contains a forward slash (/) character in the folder name, and you attempt to read a message in that folder.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use either of the following methods:
- Rename the folder on the Hotmail server using a name without a forward slash.
- Create a new folder and move the messages to the new folder, and then delete the folder containing the forward slash.
