XCLN: Class Restrictions Modifications Are Not Applied (251930)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q251930 SYMPTOMS
When you rename classes for chat communities in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, the changes are not applied.
For example, if you create a class in a chat community and name it class5, and configure it so that no users can log on, and then create another class and name it class4, and remove the restrictions from the previous class, if you change the name of class5 to class3, users are now able to log on even though you haven't changed the configuration.
CAUSE
Exchange Chat Service can only process additions and removals, not changes.
WORKAROUND
To rename a class in the chat community, follow these steps: - Create a new class with the same configuration as the class you want to rename.
- Delete the original class.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
