OL2000: Line Feed and Carriage Return Are Not Inserted into the Body of a Message When You Use Mailto URL (251230)

When you attempt to use a "mailto:" link that inserts a line feed and carriage return in the body of an e-mail message, the line break is not inserted.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when you click a mailto: URL in an application that supports hyperlinks, such as Microsoft Word or Internet Explorer.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, and versions of Internet Explorer later than Internet Explorer 5.0, do not parse the Line Feed (LF) and Carriage Return (CR) characters properly.
WORKAROUND
When you code your Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) page, use the %25 escape character before the LF and CR characters.
The following is an example of the CR:
