FP98: Mixed Case File Names Using 8.3 Format Are Changed to Lowercase When Imported (248981)

SYMPTOMS
When you import files with mixed case file names into a FrontPage Web, the case of the file names is changed to all lowercase. This occurs when you use the Import command on the File menu or use the import folder method.
This only occurs for short file names (those that use 8.3 format). The issue occurs for files being imported that are on either a FAT or an NTFS partition.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
