PI2000: "Type Your Text" Window Is Empty and Text Disappears After You Edit Text Object (248552)

When you edit text in Microsoft Picture It! 2000, the selected text may
disappear after you click Done.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs if you attempt to apply the Remove Scratch
effect from the Touchup menu to any text object. When you do this,
you receive the following error message:
You've selected an object on which the Remove Scratch task does not work.
Please click another object, and then try Remove Scratch again.
If you then attempt to edit text by using the Text command on the
Edit menu, the Type your text window is empty
and the text disappears after you click Done.
RESOLUTION
There is currently no resolution to this problem.
You need to retype all of the text in the Type your
text window if you edit the text after you attempt to apply the
Remove Scratch effect.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Picture It! 2000.
