The InstallDefaultComponents Key in the Networking Section Always Defaults to Yes (247952)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
This article was previously published under Q247952 SYMPTOMS
When you use an Answer file to install Windows 2000, the InstallDefaultComponents entry in the [Networking] section always defaults to "Yes" regardless of the value set in the Answer file.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the default components are always installed by the network installation portion of Setup. All that is required by the Answer file is that the [Networking] section header be present.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
