SUMMARY

This article describes the different types of Online Services that you can use in Money.

MORE INFORMATION

To set up an account for Online Services, you can use any of the following standards:
  • Open Financial Connectivity (OFC) standard
  • Open Financial Exchange (OFX) standard
  • Quicken Interchange Format (QIF) standard
You may make direct connections to your bank, brokerage, credit union, or a service bureau that handles online services for your financial institution. If your financial institution does not offer direct services, you can also signup for bill payment services with a service bureau. There are several service bureaus that offer direct connections with Money. The following Money service providers offer direct connections to your financial institution as well as bill payment services:
  • CheckFree Corporation
  • M&I Data Services
The standard or Money service provider that you use for an account is determined by your financial institution or service provider. Contact your financial institution for information about how to set up direct services.

CheckFree Corporation

CheckFree or a CheckFree partner-bank sends a Welcome letter to each customer that signs up for the CheckFree service. This letter contains information about the services that are provided for your accounts, as well as your user ID and password that you use to gain access to your accounts in Money.

M&I Data Services

M&I Data Services or an M&I Data Services partner-bank sends a Welcome letter to each customer that signs up for the M&I Data services. This letter contains information about the services that are provided for your accounts, as well as your user ID and password that you use to gain access to your accounts in Money.

Open Financial Connectivity (OFC), Open Financial Exchange (OFX), and Quicken Interchange Format (QIF)

If you use an OFC, OFX, or QIF financial institution, you can import online statements into Money.

Money allows you to reconcile each transaction and allows you to assign the categories that you want to each transaction. In some instances, Money may attempt to assign a default category to a transaction.

Note Although Money provides online connection software, your financial institution is responsible for Online Bill Payment and Online Banking content.
