OL2000: Unable to Create Delegate Permissions for Calendar (244486)

SYMPTOMS
After upgrading from Outlook 97 to Outlook 2000, and then turning off Microsoft Schedule+ as your primary calendar, you are not able to add delegate permissions to your Outlook calendar.
CAUSE
Choosing the option to Use Schedule+ as my primary calendar while running Outlook 97, sets a key in the Office 8.0 registry values called, UseSchedPlus. Among other things, this key keeps you from setting delegate permissions to your Outlook calendar.
When you upgrade to Outlook 2000, setup installs a new set of registry entries for Office 9.0. When you turn off the option to use Schedule+ in Outlook 2000, the Office 9.0 key is turned off, but the Office 8.0 value for the UseSchedPlus key remains on, therefore delegate permissions to your Outlook calendar are still unavailable.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

risk. To Modify the UseSchedPlus Key
To temporarily workaround this problem, manually modify the UseSchedPlus key in the Office 8.0 registry values.
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and click OK.
- Go to the following registry entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\8.0\Outlook\SchedPlusOption - Right-click the UseSchedPlus key, click Modify on the shortcut menu, and change the value to 0 (zero).
- Quit the Registry Editor.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
