In Microsoft Project, in crosstab reports with task details, when you include resource assignment details, both work resource assignments and material resource assignments are displayed. This article describes how to print a crosstab report with task detail that includes only one type of resource assignment, either work resource assignments or material resource assignments.

To display only one type of resource assignment in a crosstab report with task details, you must create a task filter and apply it in the report. To do this, use the appropriate method below for the type of resources you want to display.

Method 1: Display Work Resources and Not Material Resources

To display work resources and not display material resources, follow these steps:

Create the Filter

  1. On the Project menu, point to Filtered for, and then click More Filters.
  2. Click New.
  3. In the Name box, type Work Resource Assignments.
  4. Enter the following filter information:
       And/Or     Field Name         Test               Value(s)
       ---------------------------------------------------------
                  Resource Type      does not equal     Material
    					
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Close.

Modify the Report to Use the Filter

  1. On the View menu, click Reports.
  2. Click Custom, and then click Select.
  3. Click the crosstab report that you want to edit, and then click Edit.

    NOTE: Optionally, you can create a new crosstab report.
  4. In the Filter list, click the Work Resource Assignments filter that you created in the preceding steps.

    NOTE: In crosstab reports, to show resource assignments, you must select the And resource assignments check box.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click either Preview or Print.

Method 2: Display Material Resources and Not Work Resources

To display material resources and not display work resources, follow these steps:

Create the Filter

  1. On the Project menu, point to Filtered for, and then click More Filters.
  2. Click New.
  3. In the Name box, type Material Resource Assignments.
  4. Enter the following filter information:
       And/Or     Field Name         Test               Value(s)
       ---------------------------------------------------------
                  Resource Type      does not equal     Work
    					
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Close.

  1. On the View menu, click Reports.
  2. Click Custom, and then click Select.
