SYMPTOMS

Incorrect characters are displayed when you use internal commands (such as dir) in an MS-DOS window after you use the "chcp 437" command to switch to the English code page in the Korean version of Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2. This problem occurs only after you apply the Windows 95 Year 2000 Update.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
