To format numbers in a Works database or spreadsheet so that negative numbers are displayed in parentheses:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Regional Settings.
  3. On the Currency tab, click the down arrow next to Negative Number Format, and then click ($1.1).

    NOTE: You must select the ($1.1) format that does not show a space between the currency symbol and the number.
  4. Click OK, and then close Control Panel.
  5. Format the numbers in your database or spreadsheet as either Currency or Comma.
