Cannot Use Point and Print with OEM Win95 Printer Drivers in Windows NT 4.0 (242052)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install a printer on your Windows 95-based workstation by dragging a shared network printer from a folder on a server, the Windows 95-based workstation may not recognize the printer driver.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the Windows 95-based workstation does not recognize the third-party printer driver. This can occur if there is no information about this printer in the Windows 95 Printer.inf and other .inf files on your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install the printer driver on your Windows 95-based workstation by using the source media provided by the printer manufacturer.
