Windows Messaging Not Available as the Default E-mail Program (240119)

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade to Internet Explorer 5, Windows Messaging may no longer be listed as the default e-mail program in Internet Explorer Properties. Also, when you click the E-mail box to select Windows Messaging as your default e-mail program, the list may be empty.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, click the blank entry in the E-mail box. Note that although this entry is initially blank, Windows Messaging should now appear in the E-mail box.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
